CANCELLATIONS

We reserve the right to reschedule, reroute or cancel a trip due to weather, customer safety or other reasons. If we cancel the trip we refund at the time affected.

Scheduled Day tours

If we cancel the trip or part of the trip we refund at the time affected. If the customer cancels within 24 hours of departure, no refund. If customer cancels prior to 24 hours before departure, full refund.

Private Charter

Prior to 90 days before charter, full refund , no cancellation fee. 90 – 60 days before charter, refund less $200 cancellation fee. 59 – 30 days before charter, 30% refund of total charter cost.* Less than 30 days – no refund. *

*If we are able to rehire the vessel to equivalent charter fee we will refund, less 20% or $200, whatever is greater, as cancellation fee.

PAYMENT

We accept cash, Visa and Mastercard credit cards or direct payment to our bank account.

Scheduled Tours

We take payment at the time of booking either by credit card, eftpos or direct debit.

For Private Charters, we take a 50% deposit to secure the booking, with the remainder due on the day of Charter.

SAFETY

The skipper is responsible for all safety decisions.

All skippers are commercially qualified and are Maritime New Zealand certified. They are certified First Aiders.

All vessels are Maritime New Zealand surveyed. They are externally audited to ensure systems and operating procedures are of highest standards. There is a documented maintenance program and all gear is maintained regularly.

Clients must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions prior to trip departure. Skipper’s instructions must be followed at all times. Adults must ensure children in their care follow the instructions of the skipper.

WEATHER

Good weather is required for this experience. If we need to cancel due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. Overcast, drizzle or rain will not mean cancellation of the trip. We expect clients to honor their booking. We reserve the right to reschedule, reroute or cancel a trip due to weather, customer safety or other reasons. If we cancel the trip we will refund the time affected. For canceled trips we will try to re-book on an alternative day.

DISCLAIMER

Booking and payment with Boom Charters Limited is deemed acknowledgement and acceptance of following disclaimer.

Boom Charters Limited shall not be liable for any death, personal injury, or loss or damage to property and it is a condition of booking with Boom Charters Limited that you hereby release to the full extent permitted by law, Boom Charters Limited its employees, directors and any sub contractors from all actual or contingent liability in respect of such personal injury, death, loss or damage.

All sailing passengers shall comply with any direction given for the safety of the vessel and comfort of passengers and agree that willful non compliance with such directions may result in an immediate return to the nearest port or the embarkation point without refund.

It is a condition of booking and undertaking a charter that any passenger will indemnify Boom Charters Limited for all willful damage caused by any such noncompliant passenger.

All passengers of Boom Charters Limited shall be liable for any cost associated with repairs and/or replacement of the vessel and/or equipment which occurs as a result of willful damage.
